Shaun Tomaszewski
Executive Director Curriculum, Assessment, and Innovation
Shaun Tomaszewski is excited to bring his experience as a school- and district-level administrator to the East Allegheny School District. Prior appointments include serving as the Baldwin High School Principal, Director of Curriculum and Assessment for Northgate School District, STEAM Curriculum Coordinator for Pittsburgh Public Schools, and 6-2 Science Chair for the Mt. Lebanon School District.
His most recent faculty appointment was at the University of Pittsburgh, where he taught courses in Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Research Methods. He is AbD for his PhD in Administrative and Policy Studies and holds earned MEd (Science Education) and BPhil degrees (Microbiology and Neuroscience), all from the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, he holds a three-year appointment to the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics as a Steering Committee member and is an Officer in the United States Navy.
Shaun's research interests focus broadly on how people learn and develop — from studying curriculum alterations for his BPhil Thesis, domains of teacher knowledge for his MEd Thesis, and teacher professionalism for his PhD Dissertation. He has a history of applying his academic research interests to the schools and districts he supports and is happy to serve the families, faculty, and staff of East Allegheny in this exciting role.
