Communities in Schools
Communities In Schools of Pennsylvania helps children overcome barriers by providing personalized support that meets their unique needs, whether it's academic help, mentoring, healthcare, food, or job training. By placing caring adults directly in schools, CIS builds strong relationships and connects students to critical resources so they can succeed in the classroom and in life.
Just Discipline Project
The East Allegheny School District partners with the University of Pittsburgh for services provided through the Just Discipline project. Suspensions and other exclusionary discipline measures have been linked to negative student outcomes and increased involvement in the criminal justice system. The Just Discipline Project offers restorative and relational approaches in schools to reduce these practices, enhance school climate, and support both academic success and student well-being. For more information please visit the Just Discipline Project Website
