What is a School Board?
School boards play a vital role in guiding public education by setting the district’s vision, goals, and priorities. They develop policies that direct school operations, oversee and approve the budget, and ensure resources are used effectively. A key responsibility includes hiring and evaluating the superintendent. School boards also represent community interests, advocate for student needs, and hold school leadership accountable for district performance.
