• East Allegheny High School Student Parking 

    Driving Rules and Procedures

    1. Students are not permitted to drive to school without permission from the high school office.

    2. Only seniors and juniors may be given permission to drive to school.

    3. All student drivers must check in at the front security desk daily, even if they did not drive that day.

    4. Students who drive to school must turn in their car keys to the security personnel at the front desk.

    5. Students may park only in their assigned spaces. Students not parked in their assigned spaces will be asked to move. Continued violations may result in loss of driving privileges.

    6. Keys will be returned at the end of the day after buses have departed, or earlier if the student has an approved early dismissal. Students may not leave until the buses have left.

    7. Student drivers may only give rides to their brothers and/or sisters. Driving other students is not permitted.

    8. Parking permit tags must be displayed on the rearview mirror and visible from outside the vehicle.

    9. If a student receives three unexcused tardies and/or six excused tardies, a warning letter will be sent. Further tardies may result in revoked privileges.

    10. Driving over the speed limit or recklessly will result in revoked privileges and may be reported to authorities.

    11. Students who leave school grounds without permission may lose driving privileges.

    12. A record of infractions will be kept. After three infractions, driving privileges may be revoked

      Infractions include:

      • Not turning in keys

      • Driving non-sibling students

      • Leaving school or grounds without permission

      • Leaving before buses depart

      • Reckless or unlawful driving

      • Parking in an unassigned spot

      • More than 3 unexcused or 6 excused tardies

    13. A non-refundable $75 fee is required for a driving permit.

    14. Students must return their driving permit on the last day of school. Failure to do so may result in report cards, diplomas, or transcripts being withheld and loss of privileges for the next school year.

    15. Temporary parking permits may be issued for legal or medical appointments. Requests must be submitted 24 hours in advance.

    16. The district may search a student’s vehicle if there is reasonable suspicion.

    17. A copy of the student’s driver’s license must be provided to the high school office. Mrs. Rzepniak will make the copy.

    18. All parking passes are the property of the East Allegheny School District.
