NORTH VERSAILLES — Logan Elementary students met a few special visitors on Monday, as Pirates Charities visited to kick off their Chill Mobile Unit Week.

The Chill Mobile is a retrofitted RV that offers students a calming space to learn evidence-based coping skills and to take part in interactive, practical experiences to boost mental health. It’s run in partnership with Allegheny Health Network.

In addition to interacting with students, the Chill Mobile provides teachers and staff with instruction and tools to put mental wellness practices to work.

Monday’s assembly included a visit from the Pirate Parrot as well as two of the racing pierogis seen each night at PNC Park. The pierogis fell to assistant principal George Little in a race around the auditorium.
