East Allegheny Celebrates Student Achievement at Annual Academic Awards
East Allegheny Junior/Senior High School recently celebrated student achievement and perseverance during its annual Academic Awards Ceremony, recognizing students for their accomplishments in the classroom. From academic excellence and perfect attendance to scholarships and leadership honors, the evening highlighted the dedication, growth, and Wildcat pride demonstrated throughout the school year.
During the ceremony, Principal Dr. R. J. Long praised students for their commitment to their education and to one another, highlighting the strength of the Wildcat community and the district’s continued improvement in attendance. He noted that the accomplishments celebrated throughout the evening reflected not only academic success, but also determination, responsibility, and a strong work ethic.
The ceremony featured recognition in several categories, including Perfect Attendance, Most Improved Student, Department Student of the Year, Overall Student of the Year, Honor Roll recognition, and the Presidential Academic Fitness Award (PAFA).
Perfect Attendance
Students recognized for Perfect Attendance maintained 100% attendance with no early dismissals or late arrivals during the first three quarters of the school year.

Honor Roll
Students earning Honor Roll and High Honor Roll recognition were also acknowledged during the ceremony for their hard work and academic achievement throughout the school year. In addition, seniors who achieved High Honor Roll status during all three grading periods earned the Presidential Academic Fitness Award (PAFA), one of the school’s highest academic honors. The evening also recognized the accomplishments of the East Allegheny Robotics Team, which qualified for both the VEX Robotics World Championship and SeaPerch Internationals this season. Students were congratulated for representing East Allegheny through innovation, teamwork, and technical excellence on an international stage.
