East Allegheny School District has earned national recognition from the American School Counselor Association, receiving the 2026 Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation for its outstanding school counseling program. East Allegheny is one of only two school districts in Pennsylvania to receive this distinction this year, highlighting the district’s strong commitment to supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally.

The RAMP designation recognizes schools whose counseling programs align with the ASCA National Model, a framework that ensures counseling services are comprehensive, data-driven, and focused on improving student outcomes. Schools earning the designation demonstrate that their counseling programs proactively support student success and provide equitable access to academic, career, and social-emotional development.

The recognition reflects the work and dedication of East Allegheny’s Junior and Senior High School counseling team, Joseph Pedulla, and Emilia Mattucci, who collaborate closely with students, staff, and families to ensure every student has the support they need to succeed.

“Our counselors go above and beyond to improve the student experience at EA,” said Superintendent Joseph DiLucente. “They juggle so many daily tasks to ensure that each student's emotional and academic needs are met. I am proud of this designation, as it underscores their value and importance to each of us in the District.”

Now in its 22nd year, the RAMP program honored 208 schools across 34 states in 2026. Since its inception, more than 1,600 schools nationwide have received the designation, with recognized programs now in 49 states. The RAMP designation is valid for five years, after which schools must reapply to maintain the honor.

For East Allegheny, the recognition reflects a districtwide commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom. Strong counseling programs help students explore career pathways, develop social-emotional skills, and plan for life after graduation while fostering collaboration among counselors, teachers, administrators, and families.

East Allegheny will be formally recognized during the 2026 ASCA Annual Conference in New Orleans this July, where schools from across the country will be honored for their commitment to excellence in student support.
