A New Look and a Big Win at Churchman Stadium

East Allegheny officially opened the improved Churchman Stadium Friday night before the Wildcats took the field for their football home opener.
The stadium now features new turf, track upgrades, a digital scoreboard, and improved lighting installed last year. The new playing and running surfaces provide safer, more reliable conditions for students during practices and competitions. The concession stand was also rebuilt after a fire damaged the facility last fall. From athletics and marching band to graduation and community events, the improvements will serve EA students and families for years to come.
The district thanked the Tull Family Foundation for the grant that helped make the stadium project possible. EA also recognized athletic sponsors Smash Pub, Murn Incorporated, Fat Pocket Pawn, and Raising Cane’s. Their support will help teams with equipment, transportation, and other program needs.
Following the ceremony, the Wildcats delivered a performance worthy of the occasion. EA defeated Mapletown 42-6 behind two rushing touchdowns from Jelani Hunte and three scores from Tanner Loya. Rajab Oakes threw two touchdown passes, while Camden Brammell added a defensive score.
It was a great night for Wildcat football, but the momentum at EA reaches well beyond the stadium. Attendance is increasing, academic programs are improving, and a stronger sense of pride can be felt across the district. There is plenty happening at East Allegheny, and EA is only getting started.
