Federal Programs

Federal programs, specifically under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), are designated by Titles. Title I, Title II, Title III, and Title IX each address different areas of educational support.

• Title I – Academic Support for Disadvantaged Students
  Provides funding for extra help, resources, and programs to assist students who are struggling to meet academic standards.
   

• Title II – Supporting Effective Instruction
  Focuses on teacher and school leader development through professional learning, recruitment, and retention efforts.
   

• Title III – Support for English Learners and Immigrant Students
  Offers language instruction programs to help English learners gain proficiency and meet academic goals, while also supporting immigrant families.
   

• Title IX – Gender Equity in Education
  Prohibits discrimination based on sex in any federally funded education program, ensuring equal access to academics, athletics, and school activities for all students and staff.
