East Allegheny Jr./Sr. High School has earned PA Diamond Recognition from the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association, led by the outstanding work of counselors Ms. Emilia Mattucci and Mr. Joseph Pedulla. The designation recognizes the school’s comprehensive, student-centered counseling program and its positive impact on the East Allegheny school community.

East Allegheny launched its first Unified Champion Bocce team this winter, bringing students with and without disabilities together to build friendships, teamwork, and a stronger culture of inclusion. Inspired by statewide Unified programming, the team emphasizes connection over competition while reinforcing that inclusion is an expectation at EA. Beyond the court, students are forming meaningful relationships and promoting inclusion.

East Allegheny is celebrating a major boost to its athletic programs with a $250,000 grant from the Tull Family Foundation. As part of a countywide pilot focused on expanding youth sports, the district will use the funds to upgrade aging facilities and enhance access for all student-athletes. This support marks an exciting step forward for the school community.

From novels to nature trails, East Allegheny Junior High students are engaging in learning that feels purposeful and connected. The East Allegheny Marching Band captured its 11th consecutive regional Tournament of Bands first-place finish and a second straight Pennsylvania State Championship title with a powerful, student-driven show inspired by the music of Queen and Freddie Mercury. Under the direction of Justin Rosco, the band blended musical excellence, creative visuals, and collaborative spirit to deliver a memorable, championship-caliber performance.
