From the Middle School Principal

Greetings from Logan Middle School!

I am trying to get used to the early darkness but enjoying the extra hour sleep. Before we know it the holidays will be here.

Everyone is getting settled in at Logan.  We are pretty sure how to get around.  Each day we discover something else about our beautiful new home.   The last week of October was Autumfest.  Students enjoyed a hayride, parties and a door decorating contest.  Friday, October 31st we used the auditorium to show a movie. It was amazing!  There is a huge screen that came down from the top of the stage and a surround system that was awesome.   It was better than Destinta Theater.

November will be a busy month.  Thursday November 6th from 6 PM to

8 PM and Friday November 7th all day are parent conferences.  These are by appointment and I believe those have all been confirmed.  Due to the large number of students per class these conferences must be limited to ten minutes.  Please understand your child’s teachers will need to stick to this time table.  Should you need more time, please know you can always schedule a follow up conferences at a later date and have more time to spend with the teachers.  We are all available to work with parents whenever necessary as you are all a vital part of our success here at Logan.

Tuesday, November 11th is a PTO meeting in the Library at 7 PM.  The last meeting was very informative and featured a police speaker talking about internet safety.  This is a very serious issue and parents of all age children need to be informed.  This is a sign of the times. It is not too late to join PTO.  The $5.00 membership fee goes entirely to services for our students.

Our Holiday Shop will be open the week of November 18th for all of your gift needs.  More information will be sent home with your child with specific days and times the store will be open.  This event is sponsored by our PTO and is a fund raiser for our school.

First marking period grades close Friday, November 7th. Report cards will be issued Tuesday, November 25th.

It has been a wonderful two months at Logan.  The staff and I want to thank all of you for your continued support.  Please feel free to call me if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
